Following a clip uploaded to Twitter courtesy of Everton’s official account, supporters have heaped praise on Yerry Mina for his reaction to Andre Gomes’ training return – with the defender’s antics representing the joy surrounding the ex-Barca man nearing full fitness.
Gomes, who was stretchered off with a nasty ankle injury back in early November from a Heung-min Son challenge near the touchline, recently returned to Finch Farm as he nears the end of his steady recovery – prompting teammate Mina to show his joy over the midfielder’s presence on the training ground.
The Portuguese international, you could argue, has been a miss for the Toffees in his absence – beforehand accumulating an 83.4% pass success rate and 1.4 dribbles per game on average, as per WhoScored.com. By comparison, fellow midfielder Tom Davies hasn’t been able to match those numbers with his 77.2% pass completion and 0.7 dribbles.
As a result, Mina represented the probable feelings from Toffees supporters over what it means to have Gomes return to training – with fans taking to Twitter and hailing the Colombian, who has a 90% pass accuracy himself from his own half (SofaScore), for his antics.
