The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are celebrating the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gunners confirmed the news earlier today, with the Gabonese swapping Dortmund for London.
It was a pretty sensational start to deadline day for the North London-based outfit, and with more than a few hours to go until the window slams shut, there is enough time for even more activity for the Gunners.
One player that could certainly be involved in that activity is Schalke midfielder Max Meyer. According to Bild reporter Torsten Rumpf (translated via the Sun), Arsenal could potentially make a deadline day move to bring him to the Emirates.
Out of contract in the summer, the German – who is rated at £14.4 million by Transfer Markt – has been a regular member of the first team in the Bundesliga this term, offering creativity, technique and impressive pace for the club.
However, with his contract expiring soon, the German outfit perhaps may be willing to cash-in, and it’s a move that would certainly go down well amongst the Arsenal fans over on Twitter.
Arsenal supporters have taken to the social media site en masse to talk up the move, and whilst Arsenal’s interest is, at this point, purely that, with no imminent move reported, the Arsenal fans are hoping that further developments will take hold before the window slams shut.
Proclaiming him as ‘exactly’ what they need right now, Arsenal fans aren’t holding back.
