Marcus Bent has exclusively told The Transfer Tavern that Manchester United forward Anthony Martial would be an exciting signing for Everton.

Rafael Benitez has already added attackers Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray to his squad, but whilst the Spaniard saw his side start their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Southampton, the reliance on both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison is still evident.

And according to The Sun, Everton are keeping a close eye on the Frenchman, who's scored 55 Premier League goals for the Red Devils since arriving from Monaco six years ago.

But whilst Martial is approaching the 100-goal mark for United across all competitions, the signing of Jadon Sancho and a contract extension for Edinson Cavani in recent months are going to damage his chances of keeping his place as a regular.

Martial offers versatility having often played out wide and through the middle, and Bent told The Transfer Tavern that he would tick plenty of boxes when asked whether he would be a good option for Benitez:

"Exciting, he's definitely exciting. He's still young, but he's got a lot of experience. He's been brushed out by Man United. We need another forward and if DCL goes, we need a goalscorer."
