Exit of N’Doye brings joy to many Birmingham fans

Birmingham fans have not hidden their elation after hearing the news that midfielder Cheikh N’Doye will return to French club Angers on loan.

The Senegalese midfielder (valued at £2.25m on Transfermarkt.co.uk) joined the Blues at the beginning of last season after a successful spell at Angers, playing 37 times for the Midlands outfit last season.

Many fans were unhappy with his performances, describing him invariably as the worst player to play for Birmingham. However, he also remained a cult hero for the club, particularly for the effort that he put in for the club.

While fans have been critical of his skill and technique, they are most relieved that they have unloaded a player with a large wage bill. There is now confidence that Garry Monk will be able to recruit a player of higher quality in the midfield after a difficult summer.

N’Doye has started once this season for Birmingham, in the 1-0 loss at Middlesbrough, and he leaves the club as they still search for their first win of the season.
