Rangers: Fans love Jordan Jones goal in training

Jordan Jones will no doubt be disappointed not to be included in Glasgow Rangers’ Europa League squad ahead of their clash against Standard Liege.

It looked as though the 25-year-old was surplus to requirements at Ibrox. He made just 15 appearances in all competitions last term and was reportedly told he could find a new club by Steven Gerrard, with Middlesbrough being strongly linked with a move for the winger.

However, he appears to have worked his way back into the 54-time Scottish champions’ plans. He has now started two Premiership games, scoring his first goal for the club in the 5-1 win against Motherwell.

He appears to be trying to show Gerrard what he is missing whenever he gets the chance, such as in training. On Wednesday, the club’s official Twitter account shared a video of Jones netting a curling effort into the top corner, and it has sent many of the Ibrox faithful wild – one even called it “obscene”, while another feels that the Northern Ireland international is “miles better” than the much-maligned Brandon Barker.
