Rangers: Fans unhappy with Jermain Defoe starting against Livingston

Steven Gerrard has decided to start Jermain Defoe as Glasgow Rangers face Livingston at Ibrox this afternon.

The ‘Gers go into the game on top of the Premiership, having won nine and drawn two of their first 11 games. They are currently three points ahead of their fierce rivals Celtic, who could only manage a 3-3 draw away at Aberdeen earlier, so Gerrard’s side have the perfect chance to take advantage here.

The manager has a number of options available to him up front, with Kemar Roofe, Cedric Itten and Alfredo Morelos all on the bench. However, he has instead decided to give the former England striker his first start of the campaign, and he will be hoping the veteran can do the business.

Many ‘Gers fans, though, clearly did not agree with Gerrard’s decision, as they took to Twitter to share their anger.
