Fans will be outraged if these 2 Man City players are axed in January

The Manchester City supporters here in the Transfer Tavern are still up on cloud number nine following their heroic victory over Barcelona in the Champions League, with several of the army of fans hoping they can go far in the competition this season.

Pep Guardiola’s arrival has seen a drastic upturn in City’s performances and even though they suffered a mini winless run lately, the club still sit at the top of the Premier League table.

Despite his reputation has a coach, Pep’s squad will take time to assemble and it will probably be another couple of transfer windows before he really stamps his own authority on the playing personnel.

Guardiola has been brutal about who his sends packing since arriving at the club, with Joe Hart and Yaya Toure big names who have been ousted from the first-team and fans here in the Tavern are hopeful that nobody else follows any time soon.

The Tavern’s Lee Clarke looks at two players whose departure in January would outrage those of a City persuasion.

Vincent Kompany

kompanykompany

The Belgian defender has struggled in recent years with a series of injury issues and it remains to be seen whether or not he features for Guardiola moving forward.

The 30-year-old has been a loyal servant to the Citizens over the years and he has helped them to two Premier League titles, adhering himself to the club’s supporters in the process.

Whilst Kompany might not be the defensive force which he once was, the City fans here in the Tavern believe he still has a little bit more to offer the side in the near future.

Pablo Zabaleta

Zabaleta

Another player who has seemingly fallen down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola is Zabaleta, although the Argentine has been struggling with an injury too.

The man who has skippered the side on several occasions over the past couple of years is still someone who can offer the City side a lot and the fans who are regularly found drinking in the Tavern genuinely hope he will stay.

Guardiola will inevitably look to get rid of a few more members of his squad in the near future but Zabaleta’s sale could see a fan revolt against the Spaniard.

Manchester City fans, would you be sad to see these two go? Who actually should be shown the door? Let us know in the comments below!!!
