Rangers fans here in the Tavern are hoping to see some of their stars extend their stay at Ibrox, as a successful future is being eyed by the Bluenoses.
Indeed, Rangers have certainly been a force to be reckoned with under Graeme Murty so far this season, as the Gers look to force an all-important spot in Europe for the next campaign. Although, their current surge towards a European spot would be a more difficult task to overcome if it wasn’t for the consistency of a star performer within their ranks.
Rangers defender James Tavernier has looked a level above his fellow teammates in games gone by, with our local residents hoping that he can continue to be the star of the show for many years to come. And, it appears as if fans have got their wish, as according to reports in the Daily Mail, James Tavernier is close to agreeing a new long-term deal with Rangers.
Indeed, fantastic work by Mark Allen again to already begin talks with the 26-year-old about a future at Ibrox, as a follow-up for all the success of bringing in countless recruits in the January transfer window. And, it’s certainly delightful news in the eyes of Graeme Murty, for a player that the Englishman has dubbed to be the ‘best right-back in the country’.
Of course, an incredible response can be seen right the way across Twitter, as the Rangers fanbase are delighted with the news…
Fantastic news. Tav has been
one of, if not our best players this season…fantastic work again by Mark Allen. pic.twitter.com/HH3uVxiolN— Blu Stu (@Stoortmcd) February 13, 2018
Like many I see a completely different player in last few months and is fully deserving of an extension. Credit to those that brought him to the club and to JT for knuckling down and improving the defensive side to the game as going forward he has impressed from game 1

Tav contract extension near. Mark Allen is having a decent start to 2018. Danny Wilson is a strange one though.
