Arsenal fans in the transfer tavern are, for the first time in several years, optimistic about the transfer window this summer.
Having already captured Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach for around £30 million, you can expect dozens of world class players to be linked with the club over the coming weeks, and whilst this normally ends with disappointment for Arsenal fans, they now have reason to be optimistic.
Whilst Arsene Wenger often has looked to the French market for additions to his squad, he now appears to be looking elsewhere.
The Spanish league is somewhere where Wenger has recently spent huge sums of money, most notably on Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, and it appears that he will be returning to the market over the coming months.
Our landlord has word that there are a number of La Liga stars and youngsters that are catching the eye of Arsene, and we might just see the arrival of some of the following players to the red side of London over the coming months.

Karim Benzema

A long term target for Arsenal, this might just be the summer that we finally see Karim Benzema in the Premier League.
The Daily Star is reporting that Arsenal are leading the chase for the Frenchman, followed closely by Manchester United. The rumours would certainly make sense, given that Arsenal are in the market for competition for Giroud, who has lead the line largely on his own for the best part of two years.
Given Benzema’s legal issues it might just be time for him to pack up and move on for a fresh start in his career, and Arsenal would certainly offer him that.
Benzema has come out and denied his interest in the move, saying that he wants to stay at the Bernebau. But stranger things have happened in football.
Isco

Another Real Madrid star, there have been rumors of Isco’s unhappiness at the Bernebau for a number of months, and given his failure to solidify his position in the first team – you can definitely see this one happening.
It would be difficult to see where Isco would fit in the side, given that he replaced Mesut Ozil at Real Madrid, but his quality is clear for all to see, and would certainly be a welcome addition to the Premier League.
Respected Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague, quoted by Sky Sports, has had his say on the rumors, and has suggested that the move could yet happen, so do not be surprised to see this one drag out for much of the summer.
Arda Turan

Finishing up a triple swoop from the top two clubs in Spain, the Daily Express are reporting that Arsenal remain interested in Arda Turan, who is reportedly unhappy at his lack of playing time at the Nou Camp.
Despite suggesting that he does not want to move, the Express suggest that his future remains in doubt, perhaps suggesting that it is Barcelona themselves who want rid of the Turkish International.
This one might not please too many Arsenal fans, given his mocking of the club following his snubbing of the club as he moved to Barcelona, but there’s no doubting his quality. The Express adds that they expect at least one of Isco, Benzema and Turan to move to the club; and Turan in many ways seems the most likely
Matteo Musacchio

Arsenal appear to be looking towards La Liga in order to find defensive cover, as they seek to find a new partner for Laurent Koschielny.
Mateo Musacchio was a target for Tottenham two years ago, and he now appears to have received interest from the other side of London after impressing this season. Despite missing the first half of the season after a major leg injury, he went on to help his club to the Champions League qualification.
Talksport are reporting that Arsenal are set to go head-to-head with Roma for the defenders signature, and also suggest that Arsenal are actively seeking discussion with the players agent over a proposed move, meaning this one could definitely happen.
Denis Suarez

You may remember Denis Suarez from his time at Manchester City, where he won the young player of the year award in 2012. After failed stints at the Manchester club and at Barcelona, Suarez has rediscovered his form at Villarreal, which has led to interest from across the continent.
The attacking midfielder was a near constant in the side last season, carving out four goals and four assists in a team that largely underperformed throughout the season.
Talksport are reporting that Arsenal are set to duke it out with rivals Tottenham over the youngster, suggesting that they have both been extensively scouting him over the past season. They add that both clubs are hopeful that they would be able to strike a deal with the youngster and his club, despite competition with a buy-back clause from Barcelona.
