The Arsenal fans at the Tavern are all in pretty joyous moods right now. Arsene Wenger’s men secured 2nd spot on the final day of the season, piping Spurs to the runners up position, meaning that Gooners have the North London bragging rights for the 21st year in a row.
Arsenal have recently signed Swiss star, Granit Xhaka, which will help increase the strength of their midfield. Incredibly, the Gunners are also linked with a sensational move for Jamie Vardy.
Adding to the good spirits of the Arsenal fans is of course that EURO 2016 is just about to begin and the club have a host of talent in France this summer, but there are a few names missing out.
One in particular, is of course, Theo Walcott. Walcott was dubbed by many to become the next footballing sensation but his career has never fully taken off.
He was left out of Roy Hodgson’s England side after his dreadful season at the Emirates, recently being linked with a move to Liverpool.
It will be a pivotal summer in the 27-year old’s career, with a move away perhaps representing the best way to get his career at both domestic and international level back on track.

Game time
Walcott won’t be getting many minutes on the pitch next year if he stays at Arsenal. Not only do Arsenal have a whole list of pacy, skilful wingers but Arsenal look to be strengthening their attack too in the transfer window.
Now 27 years old, the speedster will soon be hitting the peak of his career, a peak which he surely doesn’t want to spend on the bench.
The fans
Moans, groans and all kinds of abuse can be heard from the stands at football matches nowadays (especially from the drunken fans here at the Tavern), but none louder than when Walcott spurns an easy chance or runs into nowhere.
The Arsenal fans have grown tired of Walcott’s lack of a “footballing brain” and he could perhaps use a fresh start.
England
The World Cup is in just two years time. Walcott will be 29 when the World Cup in Russia kicks off and he will surely want to be involved in the England set up. Kane, Ashford and Sturridge are all likely to be in the side and Walcott will really need to fight for a place in the squad let alone the line up!The bartender at the Tavern thinks if Walcott can’t get into the Euro squad, he has no chance for the World Cup.
Star man
Walcott may not want to move to a “smaller club” than Arsenal but there would be plenty of benefits.
At a club such as West Ham for example, Walcott would be far more valuable and the fans would respect him a lot more. 9 goals and 7 assists isn’t such an awful record after all, but playing in a team that once had Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp leaves fans with high hopes at all times.
The Irons at the Tavern would love Walcott at the Olympic Stadium.
Striker
Walcott has always wanted to play up front but at Arsenal, his current role is mostly on the wing.
If he were to leave North London, there would surely be plenty of clubs that would be perfectly willing to play the England man in a position of his choice as he would be a star man for another team.
