The Toffees here in the Tavern are delighted with how their side has recovered from the depths of relegation, to now looking like a comfortable Premier League side.
Everton were on the receiving end of a tough start to the season as Ronald Koeman had them plummeting towards the relegation zone, but since he’s departed things have got better for the Merseyside club, as big Sam Allardyce looks to have become their saviour.
However, with the new gaffer far from impressed with the current squad he has to work with, supporters are excited to see what new signings will walk through the gates at Goodison Park.
One particular player who caught the eye of Sam Allardyce was defensive-midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, as reports suggest that Sam Allardyce is looking to sign the midfielder, who recently won a call up to the French national side.
The 29-year-old plays his football for Champions League outfit Sevilla, and many of you will recognize the midfielder from his time playing for Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League.
His role within the side is to act as the anchorman in the midfield, snuffing out any opposition attacks with his tackling and intercepting abilities, while making use of his range of passing moving forward.
Indeed, with players such as Muhamed Besic, Idriss Gueye, James McCarthy and Morgan Schneiderlin playing in the same position as N’Zonzi, it looks as if a clear out will be required.
Therefore, Allardyce should look to bring one of these TWO midfielders to Goodison Park.
Bobby Reid
The midfielder has been one of the standout players in the Championship so far this season, after adding a deadly goal-scoring aspect to his game.
After seeing the success of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, a player who was signed from current Championship club Sheffield United, this could be the injection of pace that Allardyce has been craving on Merseyside.
Having already seen his goal-scoring tally soar into double figures, it’s clear to see that the pace-man has highlighted himself as an up-and-coming talent at the young age of 24.
After being linked with the midfielder when Ronald Koeman was in charge, there’s nothing to suggest that the new gaffer won’t seek the services of the youngster as he continues to impress.
Dennis Praet
The 23-year-old has become yet another product of Belgium’s blossoming youth-system, after breaking into his current clubs first-team ranks, Anderlecht.
Operating in the centre of midfield, he loves to get on the ball to ping passes around the park, as well as moving forward into attacking areas to create for his teammates after tallying 3+ assists already this season.
Everton expressed an interest in the midfielder during Koeman’s reign, but nothing came of it as they opted to sign the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Nikola Vlasic.
However, after the midfield maestro came out to say ‘he’d loved to play in the Premier League one day‘, it looks as if this is a realistic move.
