Toni Kroos would of course be a great signing for Manchester United, and our United punters here in the Transfer Tavern say it would be a fantastic option.
However, our landlord here in the Tavern thinks there are better options out there than the German international.
The German has been linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past few weeks but perhaps there really are some better options for United to consider, and with Mourinho heavily linked with the top-job at Old Trafford, who else should the Portuguese gaffer consider other than Kroos?
Many transfers have fallen through over the past few seasons for the Red Devils, and Kroos has been a key player for Real Madrid this season, so if this transfer fails, here are FIVE better options for Jose Mourinho to consider if he joins…..

James Rodriguez

Another Real Madrid star here.
The 2014 World Cup golden boot winner would surely be perfect at Old Trafford.
The Colombian is a great threat going forward and is often overlooked in the Real starting XI.
There have been many rumours here in the Tavern about James leaving the Bernabeu this summer, and Manchester may be his preferred destination.
He would be costly, but certainly a great attacking option for Manchester United to look at.
Granit Xhaka

The Swiss midfielder has been linked with a £35 million move to Arsenal but he would be an ideal man for Manchester United.
Xhaka is a leader, great with both feet and talented going forward and an interception specialist.
Xhaka would suit the Premier League very well and may be lured to Old Trafford, the 23-year-old is debatably an even better signing than Kroos himself.
N’Golo Kante

Kante has been one of the best players in a remarkable season for Leecster this season, winning the player’s player of the year.
Kante has made more interceptions than any other player in Europe’s top leagues this season.
Despite Leicester winning the league and playing Champions League football next season, Kante may want to play at Old Trafford next season, his release clause is a tiny £20 million, it would be crazy for United not to bid for him.
Isco

Yet another Real Madrid man.
Isco has also found it difficult to break into the Real Madrid starting line-up this year.
The Spaniard will surely be looking for a way out of Madrid this summer, and United may be his preferred destination.
Isco could be the man to lead United back to the Champions League and perhaps even the league title.
At just 24 years old, Isco has plenty of years ahead of him, perhaps filling in the void left by Paul Scholes.
Mario Gotze

Gotze has won 5 league titles in his 6 seasons playing in the Bundesliga.
Gotze scored the winning goal in the World Cup final in 2014 and is far too good to be sitting on the bench at the Allianz Arena.
Gotze is very talented on the ball, a great dribbler and a great attacking threat in both scoring and assisting – the German could be a star of the Premier League for years to come.
