According to The Sun, Real Madrid are lining up a £25 million move for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey with our local Gunners fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping that such a deal does not come to pass.
The Welsh midfielder is one of the most popular players at the club amongst the Arsenal fans for the way he fought back from that nasty leg break he suffered against Stoke a few years ago.
Not much liked by the Potters, mind.
He’s also won their affections thanks to the goal-scoring attributes he offers in midfield and is, arguably, their most effective player at breaking from deep and finding the back of the net.
He would be a miss, then, or so it would seem at first thought. Our landlord reckons, though, letting the Arsenal midfielder go to the La Liga side might just actually work out in the long run.
Here, then, are FOUR reasons why Arsenal should cash in on Aaron Ramsey…
Injury prone

Ramsey has suffered with injuries during his time at Arsenal, not just when he broke his leg. As good a player as he can be he’s often out on the sidelines watching on and so for £25 million the Gunners really should consider letting him go.
Every player as their price especially when they’ve been frustrated by lay off after lay off in recent weeks and months.
Replacement can be found

Ramsey is a good player but he isn’t what you’d call world class, so there would be plenty of alternatives for Arsenal to try and get in once the Welshman had left.
The Gunners might even be able to bring in a player who is better than the Welsh international and if that was to happen many Arsenal fans would pretty quickly forget all about him.
Arsenal have better midfielders

Whilst the Welshman is good at breaking from deep to score he is not Arsenal’s best midfielder and so they shouldn’t be that wary to letting him go.
The likes of Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla are certainly better than him and will always play ahead of him when fit.
It makes you think, then, £25 million for a player that isn’t always a guaranteed starter doesn’t look too shoddy.
He’s reportedly unhappy

The report suggests that he is unhappy with not being able to play in the centre more for the club and if that persists, Arsenal may have no other choice but to sell him anyway.
Having an unhappy player around the squad is never ideal for a manager and for the fee that is being touted Arsene Wenger may be tempted to ship the Welshman out for good and have done with.
