Metro have Arsenal fans looking up with a smile on their faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern, yet Newcastle United fans are fuming and that can only mean one thing.
Top target Moussa Sissoko has reportedly been talking up a move to the North London club and as our regulars note, that is a total lack of disrespect to his current club who have provided him with the platform he has used to impress the so called bigger clubs.
The French international midfielder spoke to L’Equipe and gushed: “When I was young, Arsenal were my favourite team,
“My idol, Patrick Vieira, played there. I have always loved that club. I still love that club.
“My aim is to play in the best clubs, play the Champions League, win trophies.”
As one of our punters notes, given Mikel Arteta is hardly getting any younger and Mathieu Flamini is as unpredictable as ever, landing Sissoko could well be the ideal move for the Gunners.
That said, Newcastle and Alan Pardew wouldn’t really take too kindly to one of their best players being sold at such a pivotal point in their season.
Arsenal fans. Is this just the kind of player you need heading into the second half of the season? Let us know your thoughts below.
