Metro have managed to place both Arsenal and Liverpool fans on red alert here in the Football Transfer Tavern after claiming that Pedro could well look to leave Barcelona in the summer due to that old favourite – a lack of playing time.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has overseen yet another in-and-out kind of season for Pedro who has voiced his unhappiness at his bit-part role.

Pedro was speaking to Spanish paper AS and was clearly unsure over his future, noting: “I don’t know if they’ll ask me to leave.

“I’m happy here and I want to continue but I don’t know what might happen tomorrow. We’ll talk at the end of the season.”

Now as one of our punters notes, the creative forward is obviously desperate for game time and given the form of not only Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla, not to mention the return to fitness of Mesut Ozil, we wonder if Arsenal is actually the right destination for the Spanish international.

We certainly have reservations over Pedro being the man Arsenal really need and as our regulars over by the pool table note, yet again it seems that the Gunners could be going for flare over substance.
