Aston Villa’s squad is once again expected to be a major talking point this summer after another strong campaign under Unai Emery, with interest already building around several key players.
Villa secured a top-four Premier League finish and added the Europa League title to their recent progress under Emery, continuing their upward trajectory in both domestic and European football.
Players such as Ollie Watkins, who bounced back from a slow start to finish with 21 goals, Ezri Konsa, Matty Cash, Emiliano Martínez and Morgan Rogers all played key roles in another successful season.
However, attention is now beginning to shift towards potential departures as the summer window approaches.
Galatasaray Monitoring Buendia
According to Football Insider, Galatasaray are keeping close tabs on Aston Villa midfielder Emiliano Buendia as they explore possible summer opportunities.
The Argentine, described as “a wicked technician” by TNT Sports pundits Stiliyan Petrov and Owen Hargreaves, has worked his way back into Emery’s plans over the 2025-26 campaign, making 36 Premier League appearances and contributing significantly to Villa’s Europa League success.
Buendia’s current contract runs until 2027, and Villa are expected to hold discussions over his long-term future once the current cycle concludes at the end of June. However, interest from abroad is already beginning to build.
Turkish reports suggest Galatasaray are monitoring his situation closely and could even explore a potential deal involving midfielder Gabriel Sara as part of any negotiation between the clubs.
There is also expected to be movement in Villa’s attacking department, with reinforcements being considered should Buendia depart. West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville has been mentioned as a possible option, having impressed in the Premier League despite his side’s relegation.
For now, Buendia’s future remains open, but Villa may face growing pressure to make a decision as interest from Turkey begins to take shape.
