Aston Villa emerge as favourites to sign “truly special” La Liga star in January

Aston Villa could be preparing an ambitious January move as Unai Emery looks to add more quality to his attacking options.

The club have already shown a willingness to compete for high-profile players in recent times, and another major opportunity could now be emerging in the form of a Brazilian forward struggling for regular football at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Villa have reportedly been interested in him before, but his situation at Real Madrid has now made a temporary move increasingly realistic.

Aston Villa Favourites to Sign Endrick

According to reports from Spain, Aston Villa have emerged as the leading candidate to sign Real Madrid forward Endrick on loan in January.

The 20-year-old is becoming increasingly frustrated by his lack of opportunities under Jose Mourinho and is now considering another temporary departure from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Endrick – once described as “truly special” by Carlo Ancelotti – spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon, where he made a huge impression. The Brazil international scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 21 appearances, earning himself a place in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

However, his return to Madrid has not gone according to plan. Injury and fierce competition for attacking places have restricted him to just a handful of minutes this season, leaving the forward once again looking for a route to regular first-team football.

Villa could now offer precisely that.

Emery’s side are competing in the Champions League, which is reportedly one of the factors making a move to Villa Park particularly attractive to Endrick. Roma and Lyon are also interested, but current reports suggest Villa are in pole position for his signature.

Villa’s interest in Endrick is not new either. The club explored a potential loan earlier in the year, before Real Madrid ultimately decided to keep him in their squad.

A January move could therefore give Emery the chance to add another exciting option to his forward line while allowing Endrick to continue his development away from the intense competition at the Bernabeu.

The Brazilian’s versatility could also appeal to Villa. He can operate centrally or from the right, giving Emery another option in attack as the club balances their Premier League and Champions League commitments.

With Endrick reportedly keen to find regular football and Villa currently viewed as his most likely destination, the Midlands club could be in a strong position to secure one of the most exciting young forwards in world football on a temporary deal.
