Glasgow Rangers: Fans slam media outlet over Florian Kamberi transfer story

Plenty of Glasgow Rangers fans have slammed The Scottish Sun over their reporting of a transfer story involving Florian Kamberi.

Edinburgh News reported that the Hibernian striker, who had a loan spell at Ibrox last season, is set to join St Gallen in Switzerland. The Scottish Sun also covered that particular transfer but stressed that the 25-year-old rejected a two-year deal from the ‘Gers before agreeing a move to St Gallen and wasn’t prepared to accept the terms being offered by the Glasgow outfit.

However, David Edgar of the Heart & Hand Podcast claimed via Twitter (@ibroxrocks) that he had spoken to the Ibrox club, who apparently informed him that Kamberi had never been offered a deal by the ‘Gers. He also insisted that, if the Light Blues had genuine interest in a permanent move for the striker, they would not have been so forthright in refuting it to the podcast host.

The 25-year-old played just nine games in a brief loan spell at Ibrox earlier this year, scoring once in that time before the move was cut short by the season’s premature end owing to the global pandemic.
