The current pandemic has wreaked havoc across the globe, and football has not remained untouched.
The suspension to most leagues across Europe could very well cause huge financial problems for clubs even in the very biggest of divisions. Burnley, who are in the Premier League, have said they could go out of business by August if the current situation stays the same.
The large wages that the professional players are earning are linked to those issues. But fortunately for Rangers, manager Steven Gerrard, the playing and coaching staff as well as the club’s Executive Directors have made the huge decision to defer their wages for the next three months, which was confirmed by Sky Sports.
As you can imagine, the Ibrox faithful are delighted with their decision, expressing pride for their actions. They have taken to social media platform Twitter to share their thoughts on the issue, and you can see some of the best reactions below.
Well done. Yet again putting other clubs to shame 👏

Fantastic Rangers. Done properly. Didn’t need to postpone season ticket sales though most of us would have paid it anyway. Unlike the bheasts from the east desperate for sales for some reason. #Skint
