Rangers, just like Newcastle, have long had to deal with Mike Ashley at their club.
Whilst the Gers have not been owned by the Londoner, Ashley has still been involved at Ibrox from a commercial point of view, with the club’s megastore being owned by him, for example. The Toon, though, are close to completing their takeover in the coming days and weeks, and there is good news for the 54-time Scottish champions as well.

It has been revealed by the club themselves that all existing contracts will be ended in the summer, whilst the megastore at the ground will be renovated. They have confirmed that they will be looking for a new retail partner, which would mean that Ashley would be finally out of the door, three years after selling his 9% stake in the football club.
