Rod Wallace was surely one of Dick Advocaat’s best signings during the Dutchman’s time at Rangers.
The forward was signed on a free transfer in 1998, and would end up scoring over 40 goals in 74 matches in the Scottish Premiership for the Ibrox outfit. Those strikes helped the Gers win the league on two occasions, whilst they also lifted the Scottish Cup twice and the League Cup once.

Many of his goals delighted the club’s supporters, including one he bagged against Celtic at Parkhead. Following a pass from former World Cup finalist Giovanni van Bronckhorst, he took the ball past the keeper and slotted it into the back of the net – with one of the ball boys then kicking it back out onto the pitch in disgust.
The clip has been shared on the club’s official Twitter page, and it has delighted many of the supporters. They have taken to the social media platform to share their thoughts and praise Wallace, with one labelling him a ‘fantastic wee player.’

Loved that wee guy. Out with the likes of Numan and Van Bronkhorst. He has to be one of Advocaat’s best signings.
