Glasgow Rangers: Fans hammer Motherwell’s tweet

Much to the likely dismay of Glasgow Rangers, the Scottish Premiership was brought to an end on Monday.

The Gers had been fighting more than most to see the season completed, but in the end, they were outnumbered. The SPFL’s original resolution proposal, despite the Dundee controversy, was backed by the majority of the clubs in Scotland’s top four divisions, with the Championship, League One and League Two being ended immediately.

The top tier waited a little before confirming the end of the campaign, but that is what they have finally done. That means that the Ibrox outfit will have to make do with second place, whilst Hearts have been relegated.

It also means that Motherwell have been awarded third place and hence a spot in next term’s Europa League. They were clearly delighted with the news given their post on Twitter following the announcement. Gers fans, though, were far from happy, and they took to the social media platform to ridicule them – one supporter said it “sums the SPL up”. You can see some of the best comments below.
