‘Get him a contract!’ - Arsenal fans urge club to secure agreement with 12-assist midfielder

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have struggled to heap praise upon individual players this season, but one man who has deservedly earned recognition from plenty of supporters is Aaron Ramsey.

Arsenal announced that Aaron Ramsey has been named the club’s player of the season yesterday at the end of a sobering campaign. A handful of supporters believe that the award should have been given to Nacho Monreal, but on balance it’s fair to say that Ramsey deserves the personal accolade.

Boasting a mightily impressive record of 11 goals and 12 assists from 32 appearances in all-competitions this season, Ramsey has been consistently impressive in a box-to-box midfield role where he has positively influenced proceedings at both ends of the pitch.

However, Ramsey’s future at the club remains in serious doubt as he enters the final year of his contract this summer, and the supporters are hoping he will agree fresh terms with the Gunners in the coming weeks.

After more than 7 years with the club, it’s likely that Ramsey will be willing to consider offers from outside the club this summer with interest rising following his notable return to form.

But if the Welsh international eventually decides to extend his contract with Arsenal, it appears that plenty of the supporters would love to see him become captain.
