Paul Clement has come into Swansea City and has done ok so far in the main, giving the club at least a fighting chance of survival in the Premier League. 

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid coach is well respected in the game, and it is surely only a matter of time before he is a success as a manager.

However, his first priority is Swansea and Premier League survival, and to achieve his objective, he is going to need to do something pretty special between now and the end of the season to ensure they retain their top flight status.

Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern has been sat listening into the conversations the Swans fans have been having over at the dartboard this week, and it has become apparent there are quite a few issues within the club.

With this in mind, we have taken a look at TWO burning issues Paul Clement needs to resolve ASAP…

Keeping hold of Gylfi Sigurdsson

The Icelandic midfielder is bound to attract loads of attention this summer even if the Swans remain in the Premier League, and one of Paul Clement’s number one priorities must be to keep hold of his star man.

The attacking midfielder is one of the Premier League’s top number 10’s on his day, and should he leave, it would be a massive massive blow to the Swans future hopes of success.

Prove the doubters wrong

One thing hanging over Swansea at the moment is the doubt from some fans and pundits that Clement is simply not good enough for management at the top level.

His coaching record speaks for itself, but it is a whole new ball game when it comes to management. His time at Derby did him little favours, so ensuring Swansea survive will no doubt remove the black cloud over him and prove plenty of doubters wrong within football.
