According to Football Insider, Glasgow Rangers are confident of fending off interest for in-demand star Borna Barisic.

Barisic has been the interest of a number of clubs, with AS Roma, Napoli and Leeds all linked – the latter were even said to have made a €9m (£8.3m) offer for the 27-year-old.

However, it now seems that the Ibrox outfit are confident of holding on to their star left-back.

This is undoubtedly a massive season for the ‘Gers – they have a real chance of winning a first major trophy since 2011, and Gerrard will be hoping to win his first piece of silverware as a manager. For that to happen, the ‘Gers will likely need to keep hold of Barisic.

Already this season, he has been in stunning form, scoring once and creating three goals as the ‘Gers sit top of the Premiership – not only that, they are yet to concede a goal. Whilst Calvin Bassey is a promising back-up, he is not at the same level as the Croatia international.
As such, it is vital they hold on to him, which means that this is a positive update on his future.
