Glasgow Rangers: Barjonas could leave on loan this summer

According to The Daily Record, Glasgow Rangers youngster Jamie Barjonas will go out on loan this season, with three clubs chasing his short-term signature.

Barjonas scored the Gers’ second goal in their 2-0 win against Nice in the Veolia Trophy on Saturday.

However, he may not be around soon to add to that, at least in the short-term, as it is reported that there is interest in his services on a temporary basis. The sides mentioned are Burton Albion, Ayr United and Orange County SC.

At 21 years of age, Barjonas only has nine competitive appearances for the Ibrox outfit under his belt – his time is surely running out to impress Steven Gerrard and convince him that he can become an important part of his midfield in the future.

He has been out on loan before – he managed eight appearances at Bury and 19 with Raith Rovers, but neither are really enough. If he is to leave in the short-term once again, it is paramount that he is moved on to a side where he can play week-in, week-out – especially with this being the last year of his contract with the 54-time Scottish champions.

It promises to be a big term either way for Barjonas. This is a decision both he and the club must get right.
