Glasgow Rangers: Fans rage over Ewan Murray’s tweet about SPFL TV claims

Glasgow Rangers have opened a huge can of worms in Scottish football.

The ‘Gers had accused the SPFL of corruption over their handling of the league resolution proposal and they were so convinced of wrongdoing by the governing body that they even produced a 200-page dossier in an attempt to prove as such. That led to the demand for an independent investigation into the authority but that was eventually quashed as only 12 other clubs backed their standpoint.

One of the issues they raised in their dossier was the SPFL’s liability to Sky Sports over their TV deal, which reportedly was not shared with the clubs. It has now emerged that £300,000 a year must be paid to the broadcaster, and they still have claims from the BBC and BT Sport from abroad whilst they also have no title sponsor.

Journalist Ewan Murray has shared this on his Twitter account and it has received plenty of reaction from ‘Gers supporters who appear to be seething, with one fan calling for the head of SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:
