Since signing for Glasgow Rangers in January of last year, Jermain Defoe has been a valuable addition to Steven Gerrard’s first-team squad.
The 37-year-old made the switch to Ibrox from Bournemouth, initially on loan, and scored eight goals in 20 matches during the second half of the 2018/19 term. He then followed that up with 17 in 32 matches last campaign, ending up as the Gers’ second top goalscorer throughout the season behind star forward Alfredo Morelos.

Unfortunately, he has not appeared so far this time around due to injury, but Steven Gerrard will be hoping he can return to the action sooner rather than later.
His first goal for the club came against Kilmarnock, with him opening the scoring. As part of their Goal of the Day series, the Gers’ official Twitter account decided to share a video of the strike, but it did not go down well with the club’s supporters – mainly because they ended up losing that game 2-1.
