Glasgow Rangers have confirmed that Lewis Mayo has signed a new three-year contract at the club.
The 20-year-old is yet to make his professional debut for the Ibrox outfit, but he is clearly highly-rated at the club, and as such they have moved to secure his future. He will now be on the books of the 54-time Scottish champions until 2023.

As a centre-back, he will have his work cut out getting into the starting XI – Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic, Filip Helander, George Edmundson and Leon Balogun are all in the pecking order in front of him. However, this move from the ‘Gers is clearly one for the future and they will be hoping that he can turn into a long-term central defensive option at Ibrox.

The announcement was shared on the club’s official Twitter account, and it has attracted the attention of many ‘Gers supporters – one fan called it a “brilliant bit of business” while another continued to pine for transfer targets John Lundstram and Andreas Skov Olsen.

His game time very limited this season with us having the 5 centre backs, get him a decent loan move for this season and get him back in for pre season next year. The boys got massive potential.
