Glasgow Rangers: Jon Flanagan close to Amiens move

Former Glasgow Rangers player Jon Flanagan is close to a move to Amiens, according to France Football.

Flanagan was released by the ‘Gers earlier this summer and he has since been without a club.

That could end soon, though, with the 27-year-old reportedly close to a move to the Ligue 2 outfit.

Flanagan made the move to the 54-time Scottish champions from Liverpool, where he had built a decent pedigree – he made 23 appearances for the Reds during the 2013/14 campaign when they finished second in the Premier League, and only injuries prevented him from featuring more frequently.

With the ‘Gers, though, he only made 39 appearances in all competitions and he wasn’t always the most popular figure. He now appears to have taken a step down by signing for a second-tier club, but at 27, the £855,000-valued man still has time to turn it around and rediscover the form which earned him a move to Ibrox in the first place.
