Glasgow Rangers: Gerrard reveals Gers’ transfer plans

Steven Gerrard has revealed that Glasgow Rangers are looking at numerous targets behind the scenes ahead of the new campaign.

Although the season ended prematurely in the previous term, the Gers were still 13 points behind their fierce rivals Celtic with nine games left to play – it was always going to be a tough ask for them to close that gap. As such, they need to reinforce in the transfer window, and have already added two to their squad in Ianis Hagi and Calvin Bassey.

Speaking to Rangers TV (via The Glasgow Times), Gerrard has confirmed they are looking to bring in more new faces. He said:

“We’re still chasing targets behind the scenes.

“We’ve got numerous targets that we want to bring in to strengthen us and help us over the course of next season. Without giving too much information away it’s exciting times to be at Rangers.”

This is good news for the Gers supporters. The only way they are going to get their hands on their first piece of silverware under the former Liverpool man is by strengthening across the board, and this is an indication they could do just that.

They have already been linked with a number of players, such as Ivan Toney and Lewis Ferguson – it remains to be seen who they can bring in.
