Glasgow Rangers: Gers not interested in Max Meyer

The 4th Official has revealed that there is no truth in the rumours linking Glasgow Rangers to Max Meyer.

It it not clear as to where the rumour first emerged, but it seems it may have come from an online message board.

Now, though, it has been revealed the Ibrox outfit are not about to make a move for the Crystal Palace man at all.

Whoever said that the Gers were interested in the four-time Germany international was clearly dreaming of a miracle – it seems difficult to see how the Ibrox outfit would ever be able to afford the 24-year-old. He is currently valued at £7.2m by Transfermarkt, and as he has just one year left on his contract, a decent transfer fee could be negotiated. The issue is his wages – he is said to be on £125,000 a week at Selhurst Park.

Whilst he made just 17 appearances for the Eagles last term, he is a player with plenty of talent – he managed 22 goals and 23 assists in 192 matches for Schalke, where he made his debut as a 17-year-old. He would certainly add the creativity that the likes of Brian Laudrup have been calling for, but convincing him to make the move north of the border does appear to be wishful thinking.
