Glasgow Rangers: Fans rage at clubs’ reported plans to expel Hearts and Partick Thistle from SPFL

Glasgow Rangers will be keeping an eye on the legal battle involving Hearts and Partick Thistle.

On Monday, the 42 clubs in Scotland’s top four tiers were asked to vote on the possibility of a reconstruction of the league system in the country – a 14-10-10-10 structure had been proposed instead of the 12-10-10-10 currently in place. However, in the end, only 16 clubs felt that was the best way forward for the game in Scotland.

As such, Hearts have been relegated to the second tier, whilst Partick Thistle have been demoted to League One as they too were in the drop zone when the season was prematurely ended. The two sides have now confirmed that they will be taking legal action against the SPFL.

However, a report has emerged indicating that there is a plan to stop that. According to the Daily Record, other clubs are considering expelling the duo following their compensation claim.

This appears to have angered these ‘Gers supporters and they have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts – one fan even called it “standard scaremongering”. You can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:
