Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to Ian Wright’s recent comments that Paul Pogba would not be in the same frame of mind if he was playing under City boss, Pep Guardiola, this season. These comments have come in the wake of Jose Mourinho’s rumoured fall out with the French midfielder who started on the bench for United’s recent trip to Sevilla in the Champions League.
The £89m midfielder, who signed for United back in 2016, for a then world record fee has come under criticism from both fans and his manager recently as United have suffered a dip in form, losing to Spurs and Newcastle in the league and drawing away at Sevilla without scoring a single goal in those games.
The France international was labelled as a future Balld’Or’ winner during his time at Juventus but has failed to consistently control games and have the same impact in Manchester that he previously had in Turin. This has led to criticism from a number of fans, managers and pundits in the footballing world.
Although it’s true Pogba can’t be described as a ‘flop’ in the same way that many players are after failing to live up to expectations for Premier League sides, it’s clear that the 24-year-old has a way to go before reaching the levels he was touted to achieve.

Wouldn’t get in the team let’s be honest.
David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne are levels above.
Pogba doesn’t have the tactical knowledge/awareness of Fernandinho to play in the holding midfield role.
