Though their team aren’t in action tonight, you’ll find the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern celebrating just as loud as the other sets of supporters this evening.
That’s because, over the last two days, the Toffees have managed to rid of some of the deadwood clogging up the halls of Goodison Park, having sold Darron Gibson and Bryan Oviedo yesterday. While the fans in the bar are yet to be wholly convinced about the new regime under the likes of Farhad Moshiri, Ronald Koeman and Steve Walsh, there’s no doubt there are certainly some outgoings to get excited about.
Well, the news that Arouna Kone is, according to the Daily Telegraph’s transfer blog (at 8:19pm), close to joining Crystal Palace too has gone down a storm. Brought to the club by Roberto Martinez, the former Wigan ace never truly impressed on Merseyside and the fans in the Tavern are hopeful exits of this ilk can make room for exciting arrivals in the summer.
