Guardiola must drop these 2 Man City players in every game from now on

Despite a 2-0 defeat against Spurs at White Hart Lane this weekend, the Manchester City fans in the Tavern still have plenty to be positive about.

Going into the international break, the Citizens are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League, something their fans are absolutely delighted about in the pub!

There is a very real chance of City bringing the title back to Eastlands this season after slow starts from some of their biggest rivals, and Pep hasn’t messed around – ruthlessly building a squad he feels can bring home the bacon come the end of the campaign.

But there have been a couple of slightly more negative issues on display over the past couple of weeks, namely players that don’t seem to be performing at their best.

This City side is blessed with talent and we know Pep will ring the changes if he feels that needs to happen.

So with that in mind, here’s TWO Manchester City players that need to be dropped in every game from now on…

Aleksandar Kolarov

30-year-old Serbian international Aleksandar Kolarov is now coming into his seventh season with Manchester City, but some of his performances over the past couple of weeks have left a lot to be desired.

He didn’t fare fantastically well playing as a makeshift centre-half in the pulsating 3-3 draw with Celtic in the Champions League, and he turned in another underwhelming display at White Hart Lane this weekend.

He looked out of position, clumsy and if we’re being honest, a little jaded in the game against Spurs and it made it all too easy for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

A spell on the sidelines is definitely heading Kolarov’s way.

Fernando

Fernando

Fernando had a poor afternoon at White Hart Lane this weekend and was hauled off by manager Pep Guardiola after just 53 minutes.

Despite City fans in the pub often singing his praises, the former Porto man hasn’t quite found the same form as he has done in recent seasons and it’s safe to say some time on the bench might perk him back up.

City have a pretty extensive squad and have options in that area of the pitch too.
