The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are loving life at the moment. Their form in the Premier League has been simply sensational, and things are also going pretty well in Europe too. They’re riding high at the top of their group, and their last group game is little more than an exhibition match for the Citizens.

However, that being said, Pep Guardiola will want to end the campaign with a bang, and the only acceptable result when they take on Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday will be a dominant win.

They’re certainly in a good position to make that happen, given their performances over the last few weeks, and a few changes from Guardiola could make things even better for the Spaniard. The manager always looks for perfection, and that will be more easily achieved if a couple of players drop down to the bench.

With that said, Guardiola should drop these 2 Man City players to end their UCL group campaign on a high – agreed?

 Eliaquim Mangala

Eliaquim Mangala moved to Man City with a lot of expectation on his shoulders.

However, since then, he has ultimately failed to deliver on the hype. Despite having spent time away on loan, he has returned to the club this term and continued to struggle.

Pep Guardiola’s frustration with him was evident over the weekend, and so the defender could well be in the firing line this week.

It would certainly be justified, with the Frenchman struggling to impress.

 Fabian Delph

Fabian Delph has had a strong season so far, but he has had a few moments of weakness over the last several weeks.

He looked very average over the weekend, whilst a few mistakes over the last month or so will likely have given Pep Guardiola cause for concern.

Guardiola is expected to move for a new left-back in January, so Delph will need to improve over the next month in order to keep his place. A night on the bench, then, could allow him to return to full fitness ahead of a very hectic festive period.

Another bad performance, if selected, meanwhile, could be bad news for the Englishman.
