Manchester City have made a good start to proceedings this campaign and their fans here in the Tavern are mildly optimistic about the season ahead!
Despite a couple of dodgy performances throughout October, the Citizens are looking good again, albeit having drawn with a plucky Middlesbrough side last weekend.
But the goals and results will continue to come for Pep, who has some real quality flowing throughout the core of his squad.
However, we’ve seen City be a little shaky at times this campaign and Guardiola’s distrust in some of the fringe players in his squad seems quite clear.
So, with the African Cup of Nations just around the corner and the success we’ve seen by some African’s at City, we want to see if any might make a move to the Etihad this January.
So with that in mind, here’s TWO African midfielders Guardiola has to sign in January…
Salif Sane

Hannover 96 holding-midfielder Salif Sane is the first man we’ve chosen to add to our list.
Due to the quality some of the bigger sides have in this division, he’s often overlooked on a weekly basis but he’s been absolutely fantastic for his side since his move from Nancy back in 2013.
He’s very much a Yaya Toure-esque sort of player. At 6ft 4″ tall, he’s a man that dominates the midfield with his pace and power and we think he’d be a cracking addition to this City squad.
Abdou Diakhate

We’re thinking a little more outside the box with our second choice and we’ve gone for Fiorentina forward Abdou Diakhate.
The Senegalese forward is just 17-years-old, but has already been tipped to be a future African football star.
The youngster is yet to make his debut for the first team but has played the majority of football in Fiorentina’s Primavera A side, scoring four in seven appearances this season.
If we’re talking about potential, this youngster has everything it takes to be a star. Guardiola should be keeping tabs.
