‘He is a mixture of Kante and Iniesta’ - Arsenal fans desperate for Emery to land midfield ace

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to what is sure to be an exciting couple of months at the Emirates.

With Unai Emery at the helm, Arsenal’s squad is – for the first time in over two decades – in a place where it needs adjusting to a new manager, a new playstyle, and a new era.

That, naturally, is going to lead to a number of departures and incomings, you would think.

That certainly seems to be the case, with Sky Sports News reporting Arsenal’s interest in Sampdoria man Lucas Torreira. Citing Sky in Italy, they’re reporting that Arsenal are in talks with the Italian outfit over a potential transfer.

A defensive midfielder by trade, Torreira is comfortable both with and without the ball, and is able to chip in both defensively – with brilliant tackling and chasing – and offensively – with great passes and movement.

Over on Twitter, Arsenal fans have been quick to respond to the news from Sky, and it’s fair to say that they’re pretty happy.

Indeed, they’re desperate for their club to land the midfielder, with one fan making the bold claim that he’s a mixture of Chelesa’s N’Golo Kante and Spanish legend Andreas Iniesta. That would be a deadly mix, that’s for sure.
