Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for the end of the season as they genuinely think they are going to get promoted now.
Indeed, you’d be hard-pressed to find a reason why the Magpies aren’t going to go up this season, even if Brighton pip them to the title, as the sides behind the pair look just a little too far off to reel them in.
The summer, then, is going to be crucial for the club in terms of strengthening ready for a top flight return and whilst players will surely come in, there is a debate over whether Aleksandar Mitrovic will stay.
Indeed, as suggested by Lee Ryder for Chronicle Live, the young Serbian striker has one chance left to really prove himself in the north-east before the end of the season.
