The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern were relieved last night as their side managed to beat Watford. Despite a scare in the second-half, the Red Devils were able to outmanoeuvre Marco Silva’s side by the time the final whistle was blown. It was a pretty solid display, both from the players and the management, and the win keeps the pressure on Man City at the top of the Premier League table.

After the game, though, the discussion wasn’t centred around the result, but rather, the attention was on a decision by Mourinho. Mourinho decided to substitute Anthony Martial on the 65th minute, leaving the fans in the Transfer Tavern shocked.

As has been typical of the player this season, Martial was impressing against the Hornets, yet Mourinho still decided to withdraw him – prompting fears of an impending fallout between the two parties in the pub. However, the boss clarified the situation after the game, noting that the decision was entirely based upon fears that the Frenchman was tired.
