Highly-rated midfielder returns to Arsenal after loan flop

CrowleyArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are surprised and concerned to hear that a loan spell for one of their most-exciting young talents has been ended prematurely.

The Daily Mirror state Barnsley have sent Daniel Crowley back to Arsenal two months early, after being unimpressed by the 18-year-old’s spell at the League One outfit.

Crowley, signed from Aston Villa in 2013, is just 18-years-old and is widely considered to be a future star for the Gunners and the England national team.

However, despite joining the Gunners on their pre-season tour of Singapore, Barnsley have declared the midfielder is not ready for regular football in England’s third-tier; raising concerns about Crowley’s long-term suitability in North London.

Tykes supporters at the bar have tried to explain the situation to the baffled Arsenal punters, stating the teenager didn’t make much of an impression during his ten appearances for the relegation-threatened Yorkshire side.

Arsenal fans, can Crowley make the grade in North London? Let us know in the comments below!
