It was a disappointing start to the season as Arsenal lost 2-0 to Manchester City in their first home match of the season.
Following a summer of positivity at the club, Arsenal were given a rude awakening as they were beaten by the Premier League champions.
In an opening 20 minutes where City absolutely dominated Arsenal, the Gunners were lucky to only be 1-0 down.
Constantly trying to play out from the back, Emery’s men struggled to defend against City’s width and overlapping full-backs.
In a 4-2-3-1 formation, Arsenal couldn’t get the ball forward to feed Aubameyang. When the Gunners did manage to break forward, they had chances but failed to capitalise on them.
Often signalled out for criticism among Arsenal fans, Mesut Ozil didn’t have a great game today and as a result, he was the centre of what the fans had to say on Twitter.
