Currently plying his trade with Mourinho’s former club Porto, Mexican international Hector Herrera would be a truly industrious option to replace the outgoing German.

Would certainly bring with him some urgency, something much needed at United right now.

Reece Oxford has long been touted as a potential target for the Red Devils, ever since he broke onto the scene for West Ham last season.

Understood to have left his contract with the Hammers in limbo, the versatile teenager would be a big signing for years to come.
