The excitement is slowly building amongst the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern…
At present, all signs are pointing towards Man Utd finally completing their first signing of the summer, with a deal already said to be agreed between the Red Devils and Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata. Indeed, the Telegraph are even reporting that the Spaniard is expecting to be at Old Trafford next season – leaving the Man Utd fans in the pub delighted.
That being said, most supporters aren’t too sure just how good Morata is, but that is something that Opta Joe has been able to rectify. With the striker poised to make a move, Opta Joe has divulged a stat on Twitter that is likely to leave the Man Utd fans in the pub absolutely delighted.
Indeed, amongst players with 5 or more goals in La Liga last season, Alvaro Morata’s 27.3% conversion rate is said to have placed him as the second most lethal forward in the Spanish top flight.
See that Tweet below…

Given the quality of attacker on display in Spain, this is certainly a stat that is worth discussing. Last season, in particular, Man Utd really struggled in front of goal. Whilst they were creating chances, they just weren’t putting them away. This stat, seemingly, appears to suggest that Morata is pretty lethal whenever he gets a chance – meaning that he could be perfect for Mourinho.
