Impressive defender hints at January Celtic plans, major boost for Rodgers

Life is pretty sweet for the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern right now as the Brendan Rodgers era at Parkhead gets off to a wonderful start, much to their delight.

The Hoops have enjoyed their best domestic start in years and, though they are unlikely to progress into the next stage, have so far enjoyed their Champions League adventure after going two years without it.

Now, the SPFL giants have been handed a further boost by defender Jozo Simunovic, according to the Scottish Sun.

The Croatian looked set to leave Glasgow over the course of the summer, though saw a move to Torino fall at the final hurdle after the two clubs failed to agree an adequate fee.

However, now back starring at Celtic Park, the 22-year-old has revealed he will not be going anywhere by the time January rolls around, despite reported interest from the likes of Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.

”I know some clubs are still asking about me, and I don’t have a problem with that”, said Simunovic.

“But it’s not time for me to be leaving. I still haven’t shown everything to the Celtic fans.

“Probably in the future my time will come for leaving, but it’s not that time now.

“When I look back on what happened last August I’m happy I’m still here. I’m really enjoying it under this gaffer. Everything is fine for me.

“Do I hope the club says No if there’s an offer in January? It doesn’t matter what Celtic say, I want to stay. It’s my decision.”

How much of a blessing is it that Simunovic stayed at the club? Let us know below…
