Tom Ince’s proposed move to Anfield has been one of the most talked about potential deals here in the Football Transfer Tavern, but John Cross of the Daily Mirror believes Liverpool fans are no closer to seeing him pull on a red shirt once again.
The 20-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a return to Anfield this January, but failure between Liverpool and Blackpool to agree a transfer fee has seen the move put on hold. It is now understood that the Tangerines have resorted to simply ignoring Brendan Rodgers calls.
Rodgers went into this transfer window believing that deals to sign Daniel Sturridge and Ince were virtually done and dusted, although the latter has proved far more challenging.
Liverpool are only willing to pay around £4 million for a player they let go from their youth set up in 2011, but Blackpool are only willing to part with their star man for a fee in the region of £7 million.
Seasiders chairman Karl Oyston is refusing to budge, and is now ignoring any approach from Liverpool in a style similar to the one he implemented during the 2011 transfer window, in an attempt to block a move for Charlie Adam. He was successful on that occasion, and the Scot remained at the club for a further six months.

and long may the deal remain on hold. Not sure I fancy getting shafted by Blackpool especially for a Championship standard striker, who has already proved he’s not good enough in the top flight.
