David Moyes has identified Paris Saint-Germain’s powerful striker Guillaume Hoarau as the man to revive Everton’s disappointing season. Moyes has made an initial enquiry say The Guardian about bringing Hoarau to Goodison Park on a loan deal.
The main problem Moyes has in recruiting new players is the fact that the club remain in a perilous financial position, so they continue to scour the loan market for potential targets. Having already brought in the likes of Royston Drenthe and Landon Donovan on loan this season, Moyes has turned to PSG’s Guillaume Hoarau.
Hoarau, 27, has been capped 5 times by France and managed to score 15 goals in all competitions last season. Due to an influx of new players at the cash rich Parisian side and injury, Hoarau has only managed to play in 4 games this season failing to hit the net in any of them.
The Toffee’s have been desperately short of goals this season, with the form of Louis Saha and Tim Cahill the cause of serious concern at Goodison Park. Everton have only managed to score a meagre 22 league goals this season with their leading goal scorer being left-back Leighton Baines who has hit the back of the net 3 times in the league.
Having sold last year’s joint top scorer Jermanie Beckford to Leicester City, Moyes’ replacements have proved to be inadequate. Was Moyes wrong to sell Beckford? Everton’s lack of goals certainly seems to confirm this suspicion.
