Introducing: One of the signings of the summer, Andre Gomes

Over the summer, Everton made a bunch of quality signings as the club looked to build a competitive squad for their new manager Marco Silva.

And one of those signings, of course, included Brazilian forward Richarlison, who has impressed since arriving from Watford in a big-money deal.

The 21-year-old has stolen all of the headlines at Goodison Park this season having managed to muster up six goals in 10 Premier League appearances under his former Watford boss, while his overall presence in attack has added fresh impetus to this Everton team.

As a result, some of the Toffees’ other signings are starting to go under the radar with Andre Gomes being a prime example.

£13.5m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Gomes has not been able to make the sort of impact that Richarlison has made at Goodison Park following his loan move from Barcelona with the Portuguese playmaker’s game time having been fairly limited so far this campaign due to injury.

However, when Gomes has played, it has not been hard to see what he can bring to the team and what it means for Silva’s side going forward.

The Portugal international can play different kinds of passes accurately and easily escape an opposition press with a quick and clever pass into a team-mate with more space.

All in all, if the 25-year-old can stay fit and rediscover the sort of form he showed at Valencia, then the Premier League may just be looking at one of the signings of the summer.
