West Ham United: Fans want Raul Jimenez own goal to be given to Tomas Soucek

While West Ham earned their first points of the 2020/21 Premier League season with a comprehensive 4-0 drubbing of Wolves last night, some Irons fans were displeased with one aspect from the win.

The Hammers’ third goal of the night saw Tomas Soucek‘s header from an Aaron Cresswell delivery taking a deflection off the shoulder of Raul Jimenez on its way into the net, with the Wolves striker being officially credited with an own goal.

Soucek has duly been made to wait for his first goal of the season and his first since joining West Ham permanently, having netted three times in their post-lockdown fixtures towards the end of 2019/20 when he was on loan from Slavia Prague.

After the match, the 25-year-old took to Twitter (via @tomassoucek28) to express his delight over the result and the performance as his team gave their league campaign an emphatic kickstart.

However, these Irons fans on social media firmly believe that the Czech Republic international should be credited with the goal that was instead awarded against Jimenez:
